SRH and WICCI's German-India Meet on Entrepreneurship

Prof. Dr. Cordelia Friesendorf and Sabine Westermann of SRH Campus Hamburg hosted the first German-India Meet on Entrepreneurship of the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) on the 2nd of September 2022.

Prof. Dr. Cordelia Friesendorf and Sabine Westermann of SRH Campus Hamburg hosted the first German-India Meet on Entrepreneurship of the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), headed by Sowmya Thyagarajan, CEO of Foviatech GmbH and President of WICCI's German Chapter on the 2nd of September 2022 in the campus premises in Esplanade-Hamburg.

Moderated by Sowmya Thyagarajan, the event began with an introduction to the entrepreneurial goals of WICCI and the strong will to encourage women leaders in global business. Sowmya made a clear case for establishing technical and aesthetic businesses in the greater region of Hamburg, given the infrastructure, customer base and overall dynamism of the metropolitan region Hamburg.

Following which, Ricarda Rattay discussed the activities of Hamburg Invest, a venture to promote businesses and investments in the city of Hamburg. She provided examples of flourishing local companies that were set up in the last decade in Hamburg and highlighted investment opportunities that made a case on Hamburg’s high productivity and growth potential.

Indumathi Mounisamy presented her journey on developing an Edtech company that informs and supports international students. She discussed how her customer-centric company removes organizational barriers for a smooth work-and-study transition. Prof. Dr. Cordelia Friesendorf presented the brand of SRH, the ideals of an education at one of SRH’s schools and spoke about the vision to ensure ethical, empowering, and sustainable work-and-learning environments focused on business and people development.

Sanchit Bhavsar spoke about the need for sustainable business models towards climate mitigation. The event was attended by business professionals based in greater region of Hamburg and students from SRH schools, Technical University of Hamburg, and the University of Hamburg.
