State-accredited University

SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences is a university that is accredicted by the federal state of Berlin. As a state-recognised university, our study programmes and degrees (Bachelor's, Master's, MBA) are equal to those of public universities and are recognised on an international level.

Accreditation by the German Council of Science and Humanities

Since July 2009 the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) has accredited the university as an institution of higher education. The initial reaccreditation has since been extended from 5 to 10 years (until 2025) which confirms the high quality requirements in teaching and research.

In its statement, the German Council of Science and Humanities honours the international orientation, the number and quality of partners and the outstanding research achievements of SRH Berlin.

The accreditation by the German Council of Science and Humanities is a quality assurance practice for private universities that ensures whether academic teaching and research conform to the recognised scientific standards.

System Accreditation

In 2019 the three universities SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences, SRH Hochschule Heidelberg and SRH Fernhochschule - The Mobile University received the quality seal "System Accreditation" by the Accreditation Council.

The Accreditation Council certifies that the universities' internal quality management meets the requirements to self-accredite study programmes. Thus, the three SRH universities can independently ensure the quality of their programmes.

"This seal of approval is an important signal for our students because they can be sure that they will receive an up-to-date, hands-on and quality-assured education," explained Prof. Dr. Victoria Büsch, President of SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences.

To meet the requirements of the Accreditation Council, the universities defined joint quality processes. These processes ensure comparable quality standards at all three SRH universities and help maintain the profile of each university. The common guideline for quality in academic teaching is the CORE principle (Competence Oriented Research and Education).
