Dear students,
Dear applicants,

Due to the current situation in Berlin and throughout Germany, the Berlin Senate Chancellery has published new standards for Level 2 that applies to all locations (see press release).

The fundamental point is that from Monday, October 26, 2020, we will be able to offer in-person teaching and examinations only where this is essential.

What does this mean for you as a student?

  • Lectures:
Due to the new regulations we will partly switch to online lectures. Professors and lecturers will discuss the format with you.
We will do our utmost to arrange a hybrid version of classes which will be planned on-site, should you have concerns to come to university in person.
We would also like to inform you that in the week before Christmas (from 14 December) can take place in person only if they cannot be carried out online. This is in accordance with the guidelines of the Berlin Senate Chancellery.
No in-person events are allowed on campus during the first week in January, 04.01.-08.01.2021. This is to ensure that chains of infection are broken over the Christmas holidays.
  • Services:
Our services will continue to be available on site. However, the university may no longer be open to the general public. According to the regulations of the Berlin Senate Chancellery, only members of the universities, access is permitted to users of the academic libraries, visitors who are essential necessary for research, study, teaching and administration. As a student, you are a member of the university and will have access to the university's premises, including the function rooms.
Please make an appointment with our service teams or use the consultation hours as before. The use of the library is still possible during our opening hours without restrictions, provided that everybody follows the usual hygiene rules.

Kindly behave according to the following rules:

Based on our experiences from the summer semester, we are optimistic that we can also make this semester as successful as possible for you.

Take care of yourself and stay healthy.

Best wishes
