Dear students,
Dear applicants,
Due to the current situation in Berlin and throughout Germany, the Berlin Senate Chancellery has published new standards for Level 2 that applies to all locations (see press release).
The fundamental point is that from Monday, October 26, 2020, we will be able to offer in-person teaching and examinations only where this is essential.
What does this mean for you as a student?
Kindly behave according to the following rules:
Based on our experiences from the summer semester, we are optimistic that we can also make this semester as successful as possible for you.
Take care of yourself and stay healthy.
Best wishes

Don’t worry! We have designed a full-flex offer for this October 2020 intake | only applies to international students who are facing visa issues and travel restrictions due to Covid-19.
Please contact our study advisor Lena Kommoß via email (studyinhamburg@no-spamsrh.de) or telephone (+49 152 010 824 35).
She can guide you through our range of study programmes, the application process, admission requirements and financing options.
We are currently offering our English Virtual Info Sessions - every Tuesday 3-4pm (CEST)
You can sign up for them >> here.
Yes, you can still apply and submit your application online.
Please upload the last certificate or last term report you received from your school, or last transcripts from your previous university.
Fill in the final overall grade if you have it or enter a preliminary grade if you don’t (you will need to do a rough conversion to the German grading system here*).
Upon successful completion of the application process, you may receive a conditional admission allowing you to secure your seat in the programme.
Your final grades and certificate may be submitted at a later stage, as soon as they become available.
*If you cannot find your country in the conversion table, simply type in 2,7 - our admissions team will then readjust your grade.

Yes, there will be a winter semester intake in 2020 for both national and international students.
Thanks to our recently designed blended learning and study model (online classes + self study), you can start your courses online and you can already interact with your classmates. You will be able to study, exchange ideas and fully engage with your professors and fellow students in our virtual classrooms. You will also be able to hold presentations, work on practical projects or hand in essays and acquire credits through continuous assessment.
We have successfully been offering this blended learning and study model at our campuses in Berlin and Dresden since March 2020.
Don’t put your future on hold - We kindly ask you to apply now.
In case of visa delays or travel difficulties, you will be able to start your studies online and switch to on-campus studies upon reception of your visa and once travel restrictions are eased. We have introduced maximum flexibility for our autumn intake to allow us to cater to different situations which our students may find themselves in.
When you receive your study contract, we usually give you 2 weeks time to reflect and to think about our study offer (also called "guarantee").
After the guarantee ends, we have the right to offer the seat to someone else. Thus it is important so sign the contract in time and to pay any outstanding fees, such as enrolment fees and the deposit (Non-EU/EEA students).
Due to the nature of our university and the CORE Principle, we teach in small classrooms and working groups. As places are limited, it is imperative to reserve your seat.
No problem! You don’t need to take part in the distance format from home, just arrive on campus by the late arrival deadline – 30 November 2020. If you cannot make it until then, you may of course apply to defer your studies to the summer semester 2021 (April intake) by 30 November 2020!
